Sacred Music

According to Vatican II, the purpose of sacred music is “the glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful”. Musicians dedicated to this purpose are encouraged to serve the parish as cantors, organists, pianists, and choir members.

The Children’s Choir sings at Sunday Mass once per month during the school year and at the 5:30 p.m. Christmas Vigil. Weekly practices are held after school, as scheduled. The Adult Choir consists of singers high school age and older. The choir sings at most 10:00 a.m. Sunday Masses from Christ the King Sunday through Baptism of the Lord, and from Palm Sunday through Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings after Mass.

Cantors are scheduled for weekend Masses and Holy Days.
